Mid Century Modernism Glam meets India Mahdavi

The design is ‘Mid Century Modernism Glam’ meets India Mahdavi’s bold use of colour and materiality. This space is centred around the Mid-Century essence of textured luxurious materials of steel, tiles, leather, velvet and wood veneer. The interiors feature mixes of the colour palette, settling colours with subtle pops of colour from the ‘shapeshift’ and ‘fluid’ palette to complement the wallpaper and fabric designs expressed in the space. The patterns are inspired by the style of the space, using shapes, bold geometric lines, and curves. The vintage, mid-century pieces are styled alongside contemporary designer furniture and high-end finishes. This is towards the unique, luxurious and timeless appeal of the space.

Concept

This heritage-listed victorian terrace was built between 1889 and 1892. This building features a functional family home with a beautiful arched hallway entrance, 4 bedrooms including the children’s bedroom and a study, kitchen, living and dining area, bathroom, and outdoor space with garage space. During this project, the terrence home draws concepts from India Mahdavi's design exploring the art deco and Mid Century furniture and materials originating the natural features of the home and bringing out natural and textural materials.
