Lexus is the leading luxury brand in hybrid technology, through their new launch of the ‘Electrified’ collection. We designed a hospitality and retail space inspired by one of their Lexus concept cars, ‘Flagship Luxury Coupe Car’, highlighting their mission and sustainable lifestyle and reaching a message aligned with Lexus’ developed approach to car technology and design, reflecting Lexus’s ethos and aesthetic to promote its commitment to moving 100% electric vehicles by 2035. The space promotes a car from one of their ‘electrified’ collections, educating customers on Lexus’s mission. This retail space design explores high-end sustainable lifestyle products, including features of a cafe /bar that serves breakfast, lunch and drinks at night.
The concept circles the Japanese-born brand, ‘Lexus’ in their collection and a high-end luxury restaurant. The restaurant values the principles and sustainability of Lexus, through the elements of Lexus design car features and materials reflective to the space. The Japanese minimalist design creates balance and harmony, with the subdued colours. The process of entering has a flow of wave-shape drapes and curved concrete flowing through the space, creating a warm and inviting setting, entering a space like world, transits the vibrant gold metallic reflection to the ambiance with the deep hues of orange, earthy browns and blue. Using materials inspired by Japanese traditional use of natural materials. The restaurant uses a dramatic tone setting to ease guests into the luxury experience, incorporating warm- tone lighting, and reflective surfaces of bamboo wood, copper- coloured metal, and leather, mirroring an ambiance of high-end dining options of the embodied Japanese fusion. The concept showcases the essence of Lexus as a brand through their traditional Japanese influence, presented and inspired by interactive space, incorporating the experience of consumers’ exploring the journey of flavours and aesthetics of sustainable luxury.
The colour scheme creates accents of warm tones and emphasis on the concepts creating a harmonious and inviting atmosphere, transitioning seamlessly from cool tones to warm tones while incorporating concrete and metal elements. The colour scheme is characterized by cool tones, primarily represented by the use of concrete and metal finishes. Concrete walls and floors provide a sleek and modern backdrop, while metallic accents in silver chrome and warm copper, add a touch of industrial sophistication. These cool tones establish a sense of modernity and minimalism, reflecting Lexus’s commitment to innovative design. As guests move deeper into the space, there’s a continuous transition towards warmer tones. This shift is facilitated by elements like warm-tone lighting and the introduction of natural materials such as bamboo wood and leather.
